As I started to pack my suitcase, I felt a burst of excitement trying to escape my body.”I’m going to Rome, the capital of Italy”. “The cars all packed,” my mum yelled to Dad from the driveway.

5 hours later my family and I were almost ready to board the plane. “Off to Rome the home of pizza, pasta and even some of the most beautiful beaches in the world”,the flight attendant said on the autocom. Now we were on our way to Italy but it’s a 10 hour flight.

We arrived at the accommodation 12 hours later because we had to wait in the airport for four hours. “Mum, why was our bus so late”? I asked her before I slowly drifted to sleep. “I don’t know honey but it’s time to go to bed”. 

When I woke up the next morning it was 4:30 a.m. The time difference is three and a half hours earlier than it is at home. “I’m so hungry,” I said to my mum. We started to make our way down to the buffet breakfast. As we walked I could smell the Aroma of bacon waffles, eggs and maple syrup. My mouth started to water.

After I finished my breakfast I felt so fat I could hardly move. “I think I ate a horse,” I said to my Mum,Dad and little sister. My brother was up getting fifths while  the rest of my family and I were sinking into our seats.

Breakfast is done and we are now way to the carnival at the wharf for four hours we made it to the wharf and started to play the carnival games but after a couple hours it got too hot and we had to get an ice cream once we finished our ice cream it got so hot I jumped in the water for a swim it was lovely and clear.

We got home for the day and decided just to order in some pizza it arrived and we ate until our tummies felt like Kaka. 

The next day we were all sad because we had to leave but we had a great time in Italy eating all the food and playing carnival games and swimming in the ocean. On our flight my family and I mostly spent the time sleeping and watching movies.

On Monday we had tech. In the morning,we finshed an art peace for the pet day. We were finshing our animal sculptures by painting them and adding our last detalls. Then after we had our lunch I went up to the tech house to cooking with whaea sindy. We made wheat bix slice and after that was done we did our dishes and cleaned the kitchen until it was spotless.

My Pupz
My pupz is very cheeky and loves making fun of my little sister and I.He’s funny because when there is a power cut because he has solar he turns on all his lights just to tease us while we sit in the dark.

My pupz loves lazing around in the sun with his red singlet on, when he’s done he looks like a red hot tomato.He’s thin white hair with a big bald spot right in the middle of his head.

Pupz loves going for drives.When my family and I are driving to school in the morning he’s always being nosey and cruising around the neighbourhood. My popa likes going on walks up and down the beach and going to the shop to buy a coffee and a slice.

I love that my Pupz takes my little sister and I to town and on the way back he gets us big ice creams for the Awanui dairy. Pupz loves going on roadtrips in his campervan but as soon as it gets cold my nana says “it’s way too cold we’re turning around and going home”.

I love my Pupz because he’s silly,funny and cheeky.He loves teasing people and doing things his own way.

One day, Jerry woke up an was getting ready for work. Jerry works for a compony delivering bananas to the zoo in a van. Meanwhile Zoey was at the zoo waking up all the animals for people to see. Zoey went to the monkeys habitat to wake then but… they had ecaped though a hole in the Zoo wall.

Jerry pulled over to get so sushi from the sushi shop for lunch, but when he can back to his van it was gone. He got a taxi back to his house and started to plan how he was going to find the van. He turned on the news and a got ready to go to bed until he heard on the news that their was a van of monkeys driving like crazy on state highway 3. Jerry grabbed his motorcycle and drove as fast as he could to catch up to the van but then… CRASH,BOOM the monkeys flipped the car the and bananas went everywhere.

Three days later, Jerry got fired from his job but he got a new one at the zoo with Zoey. and the monkeys got caught and put back into the zoo.

1.  What decade do you think the story is set in? I think the story was set in the 1970s because the narrator said that Tame like to go to the pictures instead of the movie theatres, and that the hardest work Tame did was fix grandma’s radiogram in her car.
2. Why do you think it did not feel like home when they went back for christmas? Because they had been living in the city and because Tame wasn’t there for christmas.
3. What do you think cissy said to the man who worked the lift door? That they were her family and you need to let them through to the lift.
4. Why did Tame warn them that Auckland is not like back home? Because it was not like the farm and it was a big city with a lot of people and noise.
5. We back on the farm, why did he go straight back to the milking shed? Because he missed his brother and that is where his brothers foot prints in the concrete are.
